PHA has now grown to over 400 members with additions this month of Instituto Arvorse Vivas para Conservação e Cultura Ambiental (Living Trees Institute), Planet Bambi-Gisela und Theo Grabowski Foundation, Global Health Corps (GHC), Caring for Environment for Development, Kamu Araştırmaları Vakfı (KAV), and the George Institute for Global Health.

Instituto Arvores Vivas para Conservação e Cultura Ambiental (Living Trees Institute) from Brazil, is focused on collaborating with the Planetary Health Alliance and the entire community bringing more hands, heart and mind into the necessary work to promote, disseminate, and engage into awareness, public policy and research that reinforce the urgent need we are facing to a healthy planet for all. They have been working with principles and values of nature connectedness since 2006. They are an NGO that aims to bring a safe, healthy and sustainable living condition for future generations, listening to their voices and facilitating community leadership development into specific needs and conditions of vulnerable populations. They aim to collaborate with PHA members locally, regionally and globally into projects already in development and new ones to come.

Planet Bambi — Gisela und Theo Grabowski Foundation is committed to integrating the principles of Planetary Health into their core activities, focusing on the intersection of human health and environmental stewardship. Their initiatives, including educational workshops, community-based conservation efforts, and development of green spaces, embody this commitment. They aim to collaborate with the Planetary Health Alliance by sharing their experiences, learning from global best practices, and contributing to the broader planetary health community’s efforts to promote sustainable living and environmental consciousness. This collaboration is a step towards a more harmonious coexistence between humanity and the planet.

Global Health Corps (GHC) is a leadership accelerator mobilizing a network of health equity changemakers, building a powerful and diverse network of leaders who have the vision, tools and connections they need to transform systems. Planetary Health is fundamentally entwined with human health, as they believe we cannot build healthy communities without a healthy planet. GHC is committed to working with leaders and organizations advancing planetary health by leveraging our network of leaders and leadership development experience.

Caring for Environment for Development is a registered NGO operating in Kitui, Embu, Nairobi, and Makueni since 2006. They focus on sustainability and supporting avocado, macadamia, and coffee farmers across the country in areas of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), market linkages, and environmental conservation. They work with farmers to better understand the various climate challenges they face and reduce emissions. They are excited to join the PHA and value the importance of having a clean world where we involve all stakeholders.

Kamu Araştırmaları Vakfı (KAV) is a nonprofit that aims to contribute to the balanced development of Turkey with its natural, economic, and human resources in connection with the historical, social, and cultural values of its people. They plan to raise awareness about the importance of Planetary Health through educational campaigns and public outreach programs. By organizing seminars, workshops, and training sessions, they aim to educate individuals and organizations about sustainable practices that can protect the environment and human health. They also intend to actively participate in collaborative projects and initiatives within the global Planetary Health community. Through knowledge-sharing and networking opportunities, they seek to foster cooperation among members, exchange best practices, and collectively advance Planetary Health.

The George Institute for Global Health is a leading independent global medical research institute with a mission is to improve the health of millions of people worldwide, particularly those living in disadvantaged circumstances, by challenging the status quo and using innovative approaches to prevent and treat non-communicable diseases and injury.

Aligned with The George Institute’s commitment to improving the health of millions of people worldwide, a planetary health lens has increasingly become embedded in their research and advocacy. Their Planetary Health Working Group, conducts research, build collaborations and conduct advocacy activities that build momentum towards a more sustainable future. By joining the Planetary Health Alliance, they commit to working together, and leveraging our expertise and networks, to advance the planetary agenda.
