PHA has now grown to over 390 members with additions this month of the Conservation X Lab, Swasti, RedRoad Medicine, inc, Indigenous Health Solutions, and Rosa Care Organisation.

Conservation X Labs are looking to partner with other organizations to addressing the underlying drivers threats to planetary health, including through direct focus on preventing extinction, through harnessing innovation and technology. We are looking for partners to solve the neglected diagnostics problem through translation of lab based assays for biosurveillance to the field, through addressing drivers of extinction and climate change through engineering new monitoring systems and replacements, transforming corporate behavior, and through direct action for conservation.

Swasti is a global health equity CSO aiming to add 100 million healthy days to the lives of the most marginalized by 2030. Established in 2004, we believe that this can only be achieved through people-centered health systems. Swasti’s scale of operations in the past has covered 25 countries across Asia, Africa, and Latin America, reaching over 2 million people from diverse communities, such as sex workers, migrants, farmers, factory workers, and slum dwellers.

Over the years, as a public health organization, we have come to realize that it is insufficient to focus on interventions related to health without considering planetary health and its impact on the communities. We especially realize the significance of climate change on the vulnerable communities we work with and the multiple, intersecting burdens it causes in terms of loss of health and livelihood. This ranges from increased heat-related illness and mortality to increased spread of vector-borne and water-borne pathogens causing malaria, dengue, cholera, and other diseases, as well as rising food insecurity due to changing crop production patterns. Climate change also creates more disaster-prone areas and humanitarian settings that have serious implications for Swasti’s work in community and public health.

Through membership in the Planetary Health Alliance, we hope to learn from the experiences of other organizations working in the Global South in implementing planetary health interventions for vulnerable communities. This can include technical support and consultations, joint research, advocacy, and capacity building on various planetary health issues.

We remain committed to achieving a vision where climate change is mitigated, and vulnerable communities enjoy good health and well-being despite the major climatic risks they currently face.

RedRoad Medicine, inc are actively involved in formulating local, national, and international policy promoting planetary health. We are committed to the health of human civilization and the natural systems on which it depends. As leaders we prioritize the vitality of seven generations of future children.

Indigenous Health Solutions is pleased to announce its collaboration with the Planetary Health Alliance to integrate planetary health principles into our inclusive development work. By joining the Planetary Health Alliance, we seek to promote a contextual and holistic approach to health that sees humans within the planetary systems that sustain us, aligning our work in health, education, livelihoods, and conservation. This collaboration will enable us to work towards equity by addressing complex development challenges facing people living in remote, pristine forests through a systems approach. We are committed to contributing to the growing global movement for Planetary Health, and we look forward to sharing and learning from partners to improve planetary health-informed development practices.

Rosa Care Organisation, through its Community Transformation Initiative model, is dedicated to supporting the advancement of planetary health by providing information and insights to individuals, organizations, and communities. We aim to collaborate with the Planetary Health Alliance and its members to promote awareness, share knowledge, and foster collaboration. Rosa Care Organisation is committed to leveraging its capabilities to facilitate the exchange of ideas, amplify the impact of community transformation programs, and contribute to addressing the interconnected challenges of human health, environmental sustainability, and social equity. Together with the Planetary Health Alliance, Rosa Care Organisation strives to create a healthier planet for current and future generations.
