For May and June, we are announcing 18 new members. Please read more about them below.

Pacific Disaster Center serves as a technical partner and resources to the Alliance. Bringing together analytical and technical capabilities to amplify the Planetary Health agenda. This begins with the annual PH Analysis, to be conducted in partnership with Sunway Centre for Planetary Health, and designed to guide countries in making evidence-based decisions about the prioritization of actions to improve Planetary Health outcomes. PDCs partnership will also serve as a foundation to provide the necessary data and analytics for each Planetary Health working group as they move forward on implementing the PH Roadmap and mainstreaming Planetary Health within the business sector, academia, and civil society.

Habitable has a vision, all people and the planet thrive in pollution-free environments. They provide solutions for pollution reduction, climate change mitigation, and equity and environmental justice. One of their core values is “Better Together” because they engage with and leverage the resources and expertise of many to catalyze deep, lasting, and systemic change. They look forward to being part of Planetary Health Alliance community and supporting the individuals and organizations that make up its membership. Together, they hope to achieve Planetary Health, leaving no person or place behind.

Moms Clean Air Force’s work is focused at the intersection of climate change, air pollution, and the health of children and communities, which falls clearly within the broader domain of Planetary Health. They see climate change as a critical public health issue and look forward to continuing to collaborate with others doing this important work.

Our Lady of Fatima University recognizes the profound interconnectedness between the health of the planet and the well-being of all living things. The current state of the environment poses a significant threat to human health, biodiversity, and the ecological systems that sustain life.

Johns Hopkins Institute for Planetary Health was founded in 2024 to harness powerful cross-disciplinary expertise to confront pressing global challenges. The mission of JHIPH is to catalyze scholarship and practice of Planetary Health across the University, bring together a cohesive community of practice, and establish Johns Hopkins University (JHU) as a global leader in addressing the global health and humanitarian dimensions of the Earth crisis. PHA is a liaison between JHIPH and the global Planetary Health community, sharing information both ways. Planetary Health scholarship and informed policy and practice case studies move from JHIPH out to the global community, while real world challenges and success stories flow back to JHIPH. Both are critical to advancing the field and social movement of Planetary Health. PHA’s Secretariat is based at the Hopkins Bloomberg Center in Washington DC.

Greenish is an Egyptian Foundation founded in 2017, with a vision to improve the health and wellbeing of residents in the region. Greenish works to develop environmental balance through environmental Research, Advocacy, Capacity Building and Education (RACE). Their projects cover a multitude of aspects to promote Planetary Health through preserving and protecting natural systems and the interconnections with the health and well-being of all living things. Greenish aims to add to the ongoing work on Planetary Health through inclusive and meaningful multi-stakeholder, multi-generational dialogue rooted in localized knowledge and action.

Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa is dedicated to advancing Planetary Health through comprehensive education, innovative research, and leadership. They are committed to integrating the principles of Planetary Health into their curriculum and clinical practice, ensuring that future healthcare professionals are equipped to address the impacts of environmental change. Through fostering a culture of sustainability and advocacy, they translate their knowledge into action, aiming to innovate for a healthier world.

Climate Psychology Alliance of North America welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with the Planetary Health Alliance both in terms of concrete workshops and distribution of resources. More generally, they welcome the opportunity to join their voice with other health clinicians as they advocate for a healthy, sustainable and just climate. They believe that climate change is one of the biggest mental health challenges of our time and they seek to foster accessible, pro-social, emotionally supportive and collaborative strategies for action and adaptation.

Theresianum Spätberufenengymnasium und Kolleg des Caritas-Schulen gGmbH is a Bavarian school incorporating Planetary Health in all its departments, such as lessons in various subjects while collaborating across courses, providing a diverse network of mental health support structures, implementing sustainable options wherever possible and thereby educating young adults in a way that helps them and our planet to deal with Planetary Health issues.

Planetary Health Research Centre’s mission is to spearhead transformative action in Planetary Health, guided by the principle of the Planetary Health Alliance, and analyze the intricate connections between nature and human activities through a commitment to rigorous exploration, innovative research, and collaborative initiatives. The Planetary Health Research Centre (PHRC) aims to ignite positive action and craft a resilient, sustainable planet for current and future generations by deeply understanding, actively addressing, and skillfully mitigating the intricate connections between environmental change and human well-being, they envision a world where Planetary Health takes precedence, communities thrive, and ecosystems flourish in perfect harmony.

Laurea University of Applied Sciences educates future social and health care professionals with a strong understanding of the importance of inner and outer sustainability, emphasizing the transformative capacity of Planetary Health and planetary wellbeing promotion. With its educational and RDI activities, Laurea provides different co-operation and networking possibilities for HE and PHA members to make a difference for a better tomorrow that benefits and nurtures our shared planet and its people.

Pedestrian Space holds Planetary Health central in its mission and work to help shape awareness on diverse issues of community and urban resilience. Pedestrian Space values alliances and collaboration within the Planetary Health community to help communicate the vision of regenerating and protecting Earth’s natural systems and humans’ ongoing education to live holistically within the environments we inhabit.

Sukaar Welfare Organization is a grassroots advocacy organization, committed to engage with like minded networks and organizations to achieve the sustainable development goals, jointly they hope to work more effectively for the marginalized and neglected segments of the society.

The Greenzine is excited to partner with Planetary Health Alliance to expand their coverage and offer support to young and aspiring climate advocates. The intersectional nature of the climate crisis, public health crisis, and biodiversity collapse demands creative and insightful storytelling to galvanize the public to demand transformative change. There are countless solutionists across the globe that are actively working to address the climate crisis, and they are so excited to amplify and support their voices by joining this community.

Global Consortium for Study on Prevention, Control and Management of Major Infectious Diseases (GCSMID) is a non-profit international academic network to promote academic research and interdisciplinary collaboration in the field of prevention, control and management of major infectious diseases globally, provide scientific evidence on improvement of practice on prevention, control and management of major infectious diseases, promote the development of disciplines in this field, and support young scholars’ career development worldwide. As such, GCSMID, in collaboration with PHA, is committed to strengthening the presence of Planetary Health among academia, civil society, and the public and private sectors.

Food Campus Berlin is dedicated to advancing Planetary Health by promoting sustainable food practices, fostering regional resilience, and integrating innovative technologies. They collaborate with local and global partners to drive research and development in sustainable food systems, and actively participate in international dialogues to share their insights and innovations. Through their membership in the Planetary Health Alliance, they aim to enhance their impact by engaging in collaborative projects, accessing educational resources, and participating in advocacy efforts to influence sustainable food policies. Together, they strive to create a healthier planet through transformative food solutions.

Pompeu Fabra University Centre for Studies on Planetary Wellbeing is committed to sustained engagement in the advocacy and dissemination of the Planetary Health concept through their Planetary Wellbeing initiative, seamlessly integrated into the educational, research, and outreach frameworks at Pompeu Fabra University. Additionally, they aspire to strengthen partnerships with fellow Alliance members, thereby enhancing the breadth and efficacy of the Planetary Health network through their contributions.

Drexel Urban Health Collaborative is committed to advancing Planetary Health through rigorous research, community engagement, and policy advocacy focused on the social and environmental determinants of health and health inequities in urban settings worldwide. Their work, exemplified by projects like the Climate Change and Urban Health Research Center (CCUH) and SALURBAL-Climate, aims to address critical gaps in understanding of the connections between climate change and health in cities and to inform urban planning and policymaking. They seek to collaborate with other Alliance members to increase the visibility and accessibility of their projects’ findings; discuss effective approaches to research and engagement; and participate in relevant dialogues surrounding strategies for promoting urban and Planetary Health.
